The Elcho Historical Society is announcing their grand opening celebration of Elcho Grange Hall Number 671 Museum. This opening coincides with the semiquincentennial of the United States. We want to share some of the preliminary plans.

The Muskie Inn July 4, 1914

There will be a car show, boat show, and tractor show. Do you have an antique or classic car, boat or tractor? Would you like to participate? Please contact us via email available through this website. We can send you a registration form. In addition, there will be a craft show located on the green area in front of the brat barn. If you are a crafter, artist or baker and would like to participate, please reach out to us for the registration form. There are no entry fees for these events. Set up for all events will be between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on July 4.

A mustache and beard contest is in the planning stages. Photos will be due to us approximately 2 - 3 weeks ahead of the event. The general public will be selecting the winners. A keg toss of either a pony keg or full keg (empty) will be happening as well. Cash prizes will be awarded in both of these events.

The dedication of the museum will take place at 9:30 a.m. with a few speakers, flag ceremony and a ribbon cutting. The museum will be open at 10:00 a.m. Inside the museum will be several musical performances throughout the day on the gorgeous stage. Several groups will be participating inside the museum. South Greenville Grange will have displays and be able to explain about the Grange Movement. They are still an active Grange Hall. Elcho Area Health Planning (bike and pedestrian path), representatives of the Stovewood Museum, and the owner of the Palace of Mirrors will be able to answer all your questions about their organizations or establishments.

Next to Grange Hall will be Blue Bus Coffee. Also, next to the museum will be an activities tent. All kids activities will be under the tent. Currently, we have bingo and sand art. There will be no charge to participate.

In addition, we are hoping for a return of Karen Parise in her Gypsy Wagon. She will be located in the craft area. She will be handling face painting.

The United Church of Christ will be hosting their chicken dinner. Holy Family Catholic Church will be offering a bake sale. In addition, the brat barn will be open. The emergency vehicles maybe out in front of the fire house.

If you are a local business and would like to participate in some manner, please reach out to us. The hours are 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. At (approximately) 4:00 p.m. there will be a street dance and at dusk a fireworks show which is phenomenal. Our event ends at 3:00 but the fun continues. Come for the grand opening and stay for the fireworks.
